Meagan O’Halloran and Eugene Ramirez to anchor Sinclair Broadcast Group’s, The National Desk’s Late News, launching September 27, 2021, weeknights at 10 pm ET.
Baltimore, Maryland/ July 14, 2021 – Sinclair Broadcast Group’s, The National Desk Late News, launches on September 27, 2021, weeknights from 10 pm-12 am ET / 7-9 pm PT, with Meagan O’Halloran as the Main Anchor and Eugene Ramirez as Live Desk Anchor.
Sinclair Broadcast Group, extends its local news footprint to its in-depth, by-the-minute real-time news coverage to the evening news hours with The National Desk Late News. The National Desk has the day’s most impactful national news and regional stories, delivered from a local perspective by reporters living in those communities. Audiences nationwide can tune throughout the day into the real-time comprehensive commentary-free newscasts on 64 stations in 60 markets (including all MY and CW Network channels owned-or-operated by Sinclair), STIRR, Sinclair’s free OTT streaming platform, and Sinclair’s news websites. A new website and app will be launched by The National Desk to give audiences access to local and national news.

Where They Came From
O’Halloran was a lead anchor on FOX31 weekday, Morning News in Denver. Award-winning O’Halloran worked at Sinclair’s FOX17 in Nashville as an investigative and consumer reporter while also producing and anchoring entertainment specials that aired on Fox’s stations across the US. She began her media career at St. Petersburg Times and the Florida State Capitol and WJHG in Panama City. She studied at Florida State University.
Ramirez worked as a public affairs consultant and as the City of Miami’s Director of Communications joins The National Desk after working as a public affairs consultant and as the City of Miami’s Director of Communications. He was a reporter and anchor in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando. A CNN, Fox News Channel, HLN, MSNBC, and Telemundo contributor, Ramirez was an Associated Press Awards winner for his breaking news coverage and his special reports from Cuba following policy changes by the U.S. His news career began at the Spanish WTPH in Southwest Florida He has a communications degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.
Executive Producer Credit
Ryan Minnaugh, who earlier this year launched The National News Desk’s five-hour-morning show will serve as Executive Producer.
The National Desk morning news edition, live from 6 to 9 am ET and 6 to 8 am PT, Monday through Friday, will be anchored by award-winning, Jan Jeffcoat with Cayle Thompson as Live Desk Anchor and Angela Brown as National Reporter.
